Paper Armory: Persona 3 Female Protagonist Spear Tutorial

Hey guys! So this is my tutorial on how to make the spear used by the Female Protagonist from Persona 3. You can use this same tutorial to help make similar swords or spears. It took less than an hour to make (not including the dry time of the filler and paint) and about $10 of materials used (you’ll have a lot of extra material left). Super easy build.
As usual, always have some reference photos handy to help with your prop making. In my case, here are the photos I used:
Materials:
- Utility knife
- Styrene
- Foam board
- ⅛ Wooden dowel
- 2 pieces of ¼ wooden dowels
- ½ PVC pipes
- Electric sander (not required) with 150 grit sandpaper
- Wood filler
- Leftover expanding foam
- Spray paint
- Acrylic paint

In short, you need to sand down the wood filled sides of the blade, which can be done by hand or with an electric sander. You may also sand the sharp edge of the styrene to get that blade finish. In order to secure the dowel inside the PVC pole, I used some leftover expanding foam to thicken the dowel, and the foam so that it would fit snugly inside the pole. The spear is detachable by 2 pieces of ¼ wooden dowels that connects the separated pvc poles together.
