cos(WED): Madoka Kaname by Victory Cosplay
This week's Cosplay Wednesday features Victory Cosplay! She's got an amazing Madoka cosplay from the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime. Madoka Kaname is the main character of the anime, and this show basically follows a small group of girls including her who become magical girls to battle witches. This is no anime for young children - it's actually quite dark in a few parts. Madoka herself is the gentlest of all the girls, very respectful, shy, and wants to help people. She can be easily manipulated by others who take advantage of her kindness. However, she develops into quite a powerful character later in the series. 1. How long have you been cosplaying?
I have been cosplaying for 3 years now! :)
2. Why did you choose to cosplay this character?/
Madoka Kaname is a very sacred character for me! She went from being the helpless damsel in distress to being the overall hero and most powerful character in the entire show! Out of everyone in the show she was the only character to always stay humble and be the most optimistic.
3. How long did it take you to complete?
Took me about 4 weeks for everything to come full circle.
4. Any difficulties when constructing the costume?
Crazy enough I didn't do much to this costume. A cosplay friend of mine was selling it; I modified the zipper to fit me so the seams wouldn't rip on the sides and made the wig and styled myself along with my soul gem. I also added in a petticoat for extra poofy effect.
5. What do you love most about cosplaying this character?
I love being the bubbly happy magical type girl feel! I am a big fan of pink and poofy frills so this character allowed me to show that side! I find the whole outfit so pretty and can crack a smile on anyone's faces!
6. Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?
I debuted this costume at Otakon 2014 with one of my closest cosplay friends who cosplayed Mami Misslomeow Cosplay with me as a duo pair!
7. What's next? Cosplay related of course...
Next for me is Katsucon and more Collaboration with Misslomeow Cosplay and other cosplayers. I am traveling a lot in 2015 and will be debuting a lot of new cosplays. I already announced my cosplay lineup on my page but I am literally screaming of excitement cosplaying Slave Princess Leia - I am a big Star Wars geek!
